Wedding Invitation Card (by Alex)

(Outside layout, front & back)
(Inside layout)

Yes it is final, and that's how it looks like ^^ The theme is Plum Flower, and main color is ivory and red. I've designed the borders and most of the elements myself, but I drew and vectorized everything myself using Inkscape(I love freeware!).
I've been away for a while now, but that's because I've been caught up with a lot of things that need to be planned properly ensuring a good and smooth transition.
I'll get back to my usual sketching very soon. Sorry for the wait, and thanks for your patience. I am very happy that everyone loves the picture of Gilwi =) He's such a pretty horse!

  1. Welcome back Alex! I love love LOVE the invitation, it's so professional and I love the branch design, and the double happiness character and the little Alex and Tanna on the back... basically I think it's just perfect!

You'll be amazed how quickly the time passes and the wedding will be here before you know it, I got married in August last year and that's how it was for me :)

  4. Welcome back Alex! Beautiful card, absolutely gorgeous!

You know, if you move to Louisiana, you and your wife will only be a hop, skip, and a jump from where I live! (though, you're not missing anything by not going to Galveston!...if you want beach, head to Florida!) Maybe I'll see you around!

  5. Aveen, you're just too kind ^^ The branch design signifies winter(since it's going to be a winter wedding) and I wanted to retain a little bit of my signature on the card, and that's the "little Alex and Tanna" at the back :D

The explanation of Double Happiness was Tanna's idea, so kudos to her *clap clap clap*

Owl, teehee..getting compliments from a master like yourself, my day just seems all sunshine and rainbow now. Yes I drew everything myself lah.

Raena, thanks and it's great to be back to. Oh yeah... I'll be sure to let you know when I am there. We could totally make a road trip or something. But I heard Tanna saying something about heading to Gulf-shores during spring break.

  6. It's gorgeous, Alex. The blossom is beautiful and the red and black looks striking against the white canvas card.
Your sketch on the back is just the perfect finishing touch.
I hope the rest of the planning and preparation goes just as well :-)

  7. This is a beautiful card, subtle, unique - I like the colors and the design is full of interest! Wonderful!

I had wondered if we weren't going to hear from you for the next couple months until you returned to the states, and was pleased to get your comment today. I definitely felt your absence!

By the way, I disagree with Raena, I found Galveston to be quite pretty, at least when I went there, oh, 20 years ago. (OK, so my observation is a bit dated.)
