EDM#44 Draw an animal (by Alex)

Another EDM post and an attempt on drawing fur/hair of possibly my favorite animal since I'm posting the 3rd panda now in this blog ^^ I know that there's still a lot to be improved, and I am starting to see why I should be using a needle as a stylus to get more natural strokes, rather than just the tip of my 0.5mm mechanical pencil. I am starting to love my Faber-Castell 6B Pure Graphite PITT Pencil. It makes it so much easier to do the dark areas.
My deepest apology to the grainy picture as I took this with my compact camera at night. I'll re-post the picture again when I am able to snap it with natural daylight(or maybe it's time for me get an SLR camera ^o^)
Many thanks to all of you who viewed and commented on my last sketch on Okuribito. I am glad you like it, and I hope you like the movie too :)

  3. Ann, Thank you so much ^^ still a long way to go for me to achieve photo-realism.

HuiHui, It took me about half an hour to do the outlines, and about 2-3 hours to do the details on the Panda, another hour for the colors and the wood. Click on the label that says "Panda" and you'll see the other two :p

P-Koda, yeah the panda is sleeping :) Shhh... be quiet.

Lyna, yes makcik! I'll try to do more cute stuff next time. But occasionally the war-monger side of me would want to come out and play too okie? ;)

Kaine, Thank you ^^ I need to visit your blog and see how's the progress of your art-studio!

Aveen, actually it's not hard. ^^ I learned a bit from Onlypencil.com The tutorial section is pretty easy to follow.

Dan Kent, thanks for reciprocating! I don't usually compare from one to another, but try to appreciate the effort and attention to details into a drawing instead. That way I'll be able to appreciate it a lot more.

Owl Eng, Hahaha! I thought you only like OWLsss.. thanks for the compliments, it means a lot coming from a great artist like yourself.

Raena, don't worry about it ^^ you're never late for anything. I love your Mickey Mouse spoon drawing!
