It's spring time and a lot of 2-wheeled enthusiasts are riding on the road feeling the wind and enjoying the nature. I don't own a motorcycle, and I don't know how to ride. But boys will always be boys, I love motorcycles ^^
As Iceman told me we're doing motorcycles this week, I got excited! So I thought I'd want to have a little "warm-up" session and keep the blood pumping. I drew a Suzuki 1300 Hayabusa. Tanna saw it and told me it's very similar to the GhostRider I drew 5 years ago for a friend as his birthday present. So here they are, old and new =) LET'S RIDE!

Wow - Alex these are just amazing! I love the colors on your recent one, and you really captured the speed sensation. Tanna I right, it's similar to your first one (which is also very cool), and I really like the way you depicted the riders. Well done!!
ReplyDeleteWow their rides look furious !! great work
ReplyDeleteAs a motorcycle rider- I can tell you that these are both very distinct depictions of very different kinds of riders- both expertly executed! Well done!!!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate that you put in so much more detail in your most recent rendering- and I just love how you artistically rendered the earlier one. I simply couldn't choose which one I love the best!
You can see the speed and power in the first one, and the deliberation and quiet authority in the second. Frankly it is tough for me to like drawings of motorcycles. But these are very good.
ReplyDeleteThe details, shine, chrome..... are excellent. I can almost feel the vibrations from the first sketch/painting. Great work.
ReplyDeleteSorry I won't ride with you, Alex, I'm too scared ! But congratulations on these drawings, particularly with the new one where movement and speed are so well rendered ! Well done !
ReplyDeleteAlex, these are great! Like Nancy, I really love the way you've depicted the riders. In the recent one I think the colour of the bike in contrast to the greys of the landscape gives the bike a real presence and energy. Technically, I think both are wonderful! It's fun that I never know what to expect from your blog posts...the content is always so diverse!
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm amazed! Actually, I'm left speechless!
ReplyDeleteSpeechless here too!
ReplyDeleteBoth are wonderful, I like the ghost rider theme in the last one, no head, no landscape and the shadow like an insect.
Your attention to detail is amazing Alex!
ReplyDeleteAlex, these are wonderful! My husband watches videos of "busas", as he would call it, but I am more inclined to get to finger-wagging and fretting about them. "You'll be killed!" LOL. Anyway, wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteHaving trouble seeing the images on everyones sites today! Must be a full moon. Finally got to see it and it's really a great drawing!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! I never expected such a colorful and wonderful drawing. I can't imagine why, but I just didn't. The second one won't load for some reason, but that first one is just fabulous! Terrific work Alex!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! Neat idea with the "ghost" rider. I don't think they look similar though, after all Busa is not a cruiser ;) My husband rides sports bikes and I've been wanting to paint some but I get intimidated by all the detail that has to go into a painting like that. Maybe one day :)
ReplyDeletewow... what a great rendering!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Alex, what amazing work!
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome!! I love the colors, the shine, the way you handled the riders (esp. the second rider). Way to go!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Ice carvings and motorcycles. Lovely carvings in ice and awesome art on paper. Love this and previous post. Your art has many dimensions. Yeh Alex- You had time for awesome art!
ReplyDeleteThese motorcycles are amazing, you can feel the speed through the great perspective and rendering, wow!
ReplyDeleteWhat incredible drawings! You nailed these! I don't even LIKE motorcycles, but this is some fantastic rendering!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoy your comments on my blog posts. You are so sincere and observant. You have no idea how called I feel to write a book. I want to so much but I don't know how to begin. Do I write fiction, or do I write a book based on my journals, what DO I do? I am a voracious reader - I am a certified bibliophile! I am as passionate about books as I am art. Keep sending positive thoughts my way about writing - I do want to do this very much!
WOW! What beautiful pieces both...Vivid fierce color in the first...magical negative space in the second (which is my personal fave...it rocks!)
ReplyDeletethis is....omg.... super fantastic!! every detail is very beautifully done. both are my love!!
ReplyDeleteintend to get one for yourself? can have great trips on it with your lovely wife ;)
This style is very nice.
